For most of our life, we work at becoming successful. We study to pass exams. We dress up to get a job. We work long hours to rise up the corporate ladder. We try to impress a potential mate. We work hard at being a good parent. In all of these cases, it’s a process and a journey. It takes time to be successful. Is this also true with our connection with God? The journey of faith requires hard work. According to the prophet Jeremiah in the Bible, God says to us, “‘Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart. I will be found by you,’ declares the Lord.” (Jeremiah 29:12-14)
