About the Markham Board of Trade (MBT)
|
The Markham Board of Trade...you have heard the name, but what does the Board really do?
The Markham Board of Trade is one of the largest business organizations in Markham. Celebrating 25 years in 2006, we are a membership organization, representing over 1,100 area businesses and their employees...and that number continues to grow.
Our membership includes some of the largest corporations in and around Markham, as well as the smallest entrepreneurial ventures.
The Markham Board of Trade is your voice of the regional business, community affairs and advocating on behalf of member companies on issues critical to the economic vitality and quality of life within our city. The Board stays heavily involved in public policy and keeps strong ties to local, provincial and federal government officials.
Businesses incur costs every day. Cell phones, credit card rates, technology, car fuel, export ... the list goes on and on. One way the Board provides members a large return on their investment is through big discounts on these necessary business tools. The money members save by enrolling in these products is generally more than their original investment in the Board.
The Markham Board of Trade works to develop the city's economic sustainability by attracting people, dollars and jobs to the region. This could mean helping a company open a manufacturing facility or simply establish a sales office within the region.
We are comprised of a diverse group of people who share a passion for conducting business in Markham and getting involved in the community. The Markham Board of Trade is committed to building solid partnerships with its member businesses. The opportunities for involvement are as diverse as our member base.
A better community means better business conditions and the Markham Board of Trade works for a better community for everyone. |
